Prayut 'sorry' about bad mood during press grilling | Bangkok Post: news

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday apologised to the media for his short temper while responding to questions on the country's low treasury reserves. On Monday, Gen Prayut lashed out after a reporter asked him about widespread reports of drastic drop in treasury reserves. "What I knew at the time was that Finance Minister (Apisak Tantivorawong) had explained the issue to the media a few times but reporters still kept repeating the same question to me," Gen Prayut said. Gen Prayut insisted his government had used the reserves carefully. On Monday, Mr Apisak defended the relatively low level of treasury reserves at the end of 2016, saying it was the result of effective management by his ministry to minimise costs due to interest.
